La Cina è membro dell'organizzazione di commercio mondiale (WTO) e .CN è considerata la nuova frontiera per l' e-commerce.

CNNIC has re-opened the registration connection for oversea registrars and allows again the registration of .CN domains, but only for oversea multi-national entities that have a China Branch .
Definition China Branch: international companies, enterprises and organizations that operate a wholly owned or share controlling entity in China, including a branch, a subsidiary or a representative office with same "name" as the parent entity. The person / employee submitting the application owner contact) on behalf of the registrant (the entity), must be a Chinese citizen and must have a valid PRC personal ID.
 
The complete application material has to include 3 parts:
- the original application form of CNNIC stamped with business seal of the registrant organization
- company business license (photocopy) (English or Chinese translated and notarially certified)
- registrant ID (photocopy) of the person submitting the application on behalf of the company (must be Chinese citizen)
Some instruction for filling in the application form:
- All information is required to be truly, accurately and completely filled in.
- The registrant name is the name of the Chinese citizen, if filling in company name as registrant name will be regarded as unqualified.
- The registrant name and organization names on the application (paper and electronic) form must be totally consistent to the names on the photocopies of personal ID and business license. Please note, in most cases the name of the organization in the contact has to be provided in PINYIN language
- If the registrant and organization names on the photocopies of personal ID and business license are in other languages, rather than Chinese or English, the names on the form (and other related information) must be totally consistent to the names on the certified translation document.
- Application form is required to be submited with business seal or signature.
- Requirements about personal ID:
- The name on personal ID should be consistent to name on application form and the name in registration system.
- Please provide the photocopy of both sides of personal ID.
Requirements about business ID:
- The business certificate needs to be translated into English or Chinese and notarially certified.
- The license should be within the period of validity.
- Already passed the annual authentication.

Prohibited Uses for .cn domain name.

Registrant may not register or use a domain name that is deemed by CNNIC to:
- Be against the basic principles prescribed in the Constitution of the Peoples Republic of China ("PRC”);
- Jeopardize national security, leak state secrets, intend to overturn the government, or disrupt of state integrity of the PRC;
- Harm national honor and national interests of the PRC;
- Instigate hostility or discrimination between different nationalities, or disrupt the national solidarity of the PRC;
- Violate the PRC’s religion policies or propagate cult and feudal superstition;
- Spread rumours, disturb public order or disrupt social stability of the PRC;
- Spread pornography, obscenity, gambling, violence, homicide, terror or instigate crimes in the PRC;
- Insult, libel against others and infringe other people' s legal rights and interests in the PRC; or
- Take any other action prohibited in laws, rules and administrative regulations of the PRC.
